Guild Wars Bonanza!

Hello Everyone!

It's been a while since I've posted (roughly two weeks I think). Mostly because I was at my Dad's house for a long time.
Anyway, I did work experience last week. It was awesome.

As I said, I got to stay at my Dad's place, which is awesome, because he has fast internet, and the study is part of the lounge room. Which means I can watch LOST at the same time as playing Guild Wars.
Work experience week was probably the best week in my entire life so far. And I say that with no amount of light-heartedness. I'm serious, it was the most enjoyable whole week I've ever had.

I went to work at a place called ASG, which is an IT service provider for the company my Dad works at, called Alinta. ASG basically makes sure Alinta has the computers and software, and also maintains them (ie: fixes them when someone says they're broken). It was a great learning experience for me, because I got to learn about all different kinds of things associated with the job of IT service. For example, I got to learn about Citrix.
Citrix is a Metaframe Database. Basically, somebody puts work software (ie: Office 2003 and other things required for work) on a huge server. Then, a user logs into Citrix, and as long as they have a decent internet connection, they can run whatever program they like, even if the system specs of that program are much higher than the computer they're running off, because Citrix sets it up in a way that the software runs on the server, and takes up it's resources, while all the computer does is act like a client, sending mouse clicks and keystrokes across the connection, to the server, which is running the program.
All a bit hard to explain and visualise without being there looking at it, but it's very useful. Noel, my supervisor, thinks it's the way of the future, because it's cheap and effective. I tend to agree.

I also got to learn a bit about networking, and Desktop support, which was fun. Everyday we would go out for lunch (Me, this girl called Rima, and some of the other guys) and that was great. We'd all go to a restaurant of some kind, instead of some fast-food joint.
Overall, it was a great week.

Now that it's the school holidays though, I'm back into Guild Wars full-on. I've left my guild, EoU, and joined a guild that a friend I met in Tyria is in. It's called CoO (Children of Orion).
CoO is very PvE focused, meaning a lot of us don't have a lot of PvP experience, preferring to help out people with missions and questing and such, instead of fighting for faction points.
As such, CoO have helped me a lot this past week since I've joined. In the past week, I have captured more elite skills, and done more quests faster than I had ever done them when I was with EoU. This is largely because the friendly, enthusiastic members of CoO have helped me in almost every quest I've done since I joined them. I give great praise to CoO, because in my eyes, you're the greatest.
CoO has a lot of adult players. It's fantastic, because it means the level of maturity is much higher than that of most guilds I've encountered. It's real cool to be able to talk with all these people on Skype and on Guild Chat about interesting things instead of "How great I am because I can solo FoW". Not that I have anything against Adrian (my FoW-Soloing friend), I think it's great he knows how to do it. I just think there are more important things to GW than farming for loot, for example, helping out your guild-mates in quests (which by the way, I barely ever received mission/quest assistance from EoU members, because a lot of the time half of them were PvPing).
So kudos to you, Josh, for creating such a strong, friendly guild. CoO is tight-knit, and I hope it stays that way. May it flourish to be renowned throughout the world.
Vote #1 Henry for Officer!
